Diva Cahllenge #71 - Pea-nuckle by Molly Hollibaugh

This weeks challenge from the Diva is to use a new tangle invented by Molly Hollibaugh. Her instructions for 'Pea-Nuckle' were published online in the latest Zentangle Newsletter here.It reminded me of some of the weaving tangles I have been playing with and after the first couple of steps (with the 's' lines and the first set of 'connecting lines') I saw a pattern I liked and left it without the second set of lines...

In my second attempt I followed all the steps but I got a bit carried away with decorating it; I think its too busy now but it was fun to do!

  1. Wow, you really went to town with varying the Pea-nuckle pattern and your variations turned out great. The first one here looks like an entirely different tangle altogether...and I really like it!

    1. I love to experiment! The opportunities to experiment in Zentangle are one of the things that I like best about this artform.

  5. The woven one is so cool. A renaissance purse for the princess running away to join her commoner love!
The second one is so intricate it looks like a clock interior, sort of steampunk, could be? I like the way the pattern shrunk down towards the bottom.

    1. I thought a purse too, though other family members looked at it with the 'laces' hanging down and thought hermit crab or jelly fish :) and yes I thing pea-nuckle would look great with steampunk. Will have to try that!

    1. Thanks. I loved your Ganesha 15 entry (http://www.thingsoftenspeaktome.blogspot.in/2012/05/zentangle-ganesha-15.html) and visited your blog to find out more about Ganesha and little vahana. Would love to do an entry for your challenge. Will keep it in mind and see what comes up!

    1. Thanks. Lots of my Zentangles end up with an ocean feel to them; thats what comes of being an aquarian I guess!

  9. Both are awesome. The first one is very different; and the second one doesn't look "overdone" to me. Great representation.
